Range Rover 4.6 HSE With newly completed Anyone wanting one of these vehicles will probably be aware of the engine problems – you do not need to worry about that with this one. We recently had this vehicle booked into us with a running fault, the customer had already had the cylinder heads removed and overhauled in an attempt to cure the problem. We replaced Spark plugs, Ignition leads and one Coil. We also removed all the injectors, flow tested and cleaned them using our ASNU injector cleaning machine. Although the vehicle ran much, much better it had an engine noise on overrun and suffered from low compression. At this point in time the customer could not afford any further repairs so we agreed to purchase the vehicle from him. We removed the engine and completely stripped, we then sent the bare block away to our engineering shop to have one liner replaced. We re-assembled using – new Mains and big end shells. The engine was then fitted and a transmission oil and filter service was carried out. SUBARU LEGACY GLS AWD I bought this vehicle in early March this year as a second vehicle for its 4 x 4 capabilities was then offered a Land Rover by one of our customers so I have now bought it for him. The car itself drives exceptional; we have just used it for a holiday and did not get fed up with it at all.

It is now time for a change, this has been my second car for 3 years and it is time that someone else has the fun that I have had with this car. For those of you who are aware of us here at F1 Automotive you will probably already know my car and how much I love it, it has by far been the best car I have ever owned and I have found it difficult to make this decision to part with it. As we do LPG conversions we have always had petrol cars but as we are also a Superchip Official Dealer we need to have a diesel vehicle on site as well and so after an inter-company fight between us I lost or maybe won as I get the new Audi Q7 diesel. • 12 months mot • Tax end of April 2008 • The car has been re-mapped from a standard 250bhp to 305bhp, both the engine and gearbox ecu’s were done and this is now the most awesome machine to drive, with its 4 wheel drive handling and the vast power, there is not a lot that can catch this car. • This is the same engine as the RS4. LPG system It has the top of the range Prins system fitted. The 59 litre tank is in the spare wheel well so no estate space has been lost at all. Depending on driving style this gives you between a 150 to 200 miles range. The filler point has been made to attach onto the tow bar so no holes have been cut into the car. Remember this is our demonstration car and the LPG system has been fitted to the highest of standards.
The first is a Parrot in car full hands free telephone system, this works off Bluetooth and turns the radio off when ringing and comes through the cars speaker system. The second is a Parkamatic reversing sensor kit, this has 4 sensors that will pick up on corner posts as well as the main rear bumper area, it also has full in car display with audible warning. The third is the tow bar, this was very expensive and fitted by Indespension it has the twin electric sockets; this has only been used on a few occasions for light work. Roof Spoiler. The main car itself is loaded with factory fitted extra’s and amazing standard features. • Automatic with a tiptronic gear box, it has a quick shift on the gear lever and also controls on the steering wheel. • Height adjustment, there are 4 ride heights available, it automatically goes to the lowest position when doing sustained motorway work and you can also manually adjust its high levels, in its highest position it gives more ground clearance than a Range Rover. • 4 Wheel drive. • Cruise control. • Air conditioning and climate control. • Silver pack, this is the special silver roof rails and the silver panels to the bottom of the doors, also silver under-body protection plates. • Black and Grey two tone leather seats and door panels with walnut finish. This was a very expensive extra from Audi. • 4 electric windows with auto open and close from the key fob. • Un-lock safety, press once for the drivers door and twice for the rest of the car. • Electric mirrors. • Automatic headlamp power washers. • BOSE 8 speaker CD sound system. • Twin spoke alloys these were an expensive dealer option and are stunning to look at. • 225 55 ZR 15 tyres, 2 have recently been replaced with Goodyear Eagle F1s. • Moulded boot floor rubber protector with fitted carpets underneath. • Luggage cover. • It has a built in extendable dog guard in the rear, if you fold the rear seats for full estate use the dog guard folds with them, this amazes me every time I use it, the car has not been used for carrying dogs. • Hidden storage draws to the front and rear. • Extendable door pockets to the front and rear. • Drink holders’ front and rear. • Rear cigar lighter and heater. • Three headrests to the rear.
There are no dents on any of the panels, you may find a little tiny mark here or there but you will have to study hard to do so, there are a couple of stone chips to the front – only to be expected with that sort of power. The alloy wheels are near perfect, there is an odd scuff. The interior is immaculate showing no signs of wear, each time you get into the car everything feels new, the seats are still very, very firm. The only faults I can tell you are that there is a tiny button missing from the stereo area and that the driver’s door exterior handle is a little worn, sometimes you need to give it a little tug to open. These two faults have never bothered me to do anything with and would probably not have been noticed if not mentioned. • I have two spare keys and one spare remote. • I will be removing my private plate, the previous plate was DA51 CME which will probably be allocated back to the vehicle. • The transfers on the car will also be removed prior to collection, although the two large white stripes make the vehicle quite imposing and you may wish to leave these on the car. • 4 New Eagle F1 235/45/17 tyres (less than 3000 miles ago) • New twin plate clutch was fitted costing over £1200 + vat (less than 2000 miles ago) • Timing belt and balance shaft belt at the same time as the clutch costing nearly £300. This work was carried out by Arnside Motorsport who specialise in Evo’s, all other routine service work has been carried out by F1, due to our own workload it was easier to send it to them at the time.
THE LPG SYSTEM It has been fitted with the current BRC High Power Multipoint Sequential LPG System, with minor modifications made to extract 336 bhp as proven using Superchips 4 wheel rolling road of which we are dealers for. A 4 hole 60 litre cylinder tank has been fitted in the boot, therefore leaving the spare wheel in place and still allowing plenty of load space. The tank holds approximately 50 litres of LPG, equivalent to about 10 gallons of petrol, this gives a range from 150 miles approx’ on local high speed driving up to a 240 mile range when motorway cruising, so when driven carefully this Evo gives a return of up to 100 miles per £10.00 spent. THE MOST ECONOMICAL EVO EVER When driven hard at wide open throttle the vehicle runs at Lambda 0.8 at approximately 11.8:1 AFR, therefore ensuring no high exhaust temperatures or possible engine damage.
This vehicle has also been used to demonstrate our unique in-house developed anti car-jack system which will be left on the vehicle. Every time the engine is restarted or the driver’s door opened, the system has to be switched off using a ‘swipe card’ against a hidden pickup sensor. In the event of a theft and the card not being used the vehicle will automatically slow down from whatever high speed it may have reached to barely a walking pace in just over a 2 minute period. This unique method brings the vehicle very safely to a stop without effecting brakes and steering as it controls the fuel injection system at any rpm above idle. We will leave this on unless the new owner requests its removal.
• There is a slight mark on the driver’s seat, this was on when I purchased it and has never been anything that I have been too bothered about. • There is a small scratch on the boot lid, this is difficult to see because of the high level spoiler. • A common fault on the carbon fibre rear spoiler is that they suffer from stone chips and start to delaminate, as can be seen in the picture we have had the top of the spoiler painted in the same colour as the car, but have left the underside still clearly visible as carbon.
Please do not expect to turn up and take it out for a drive.
