LPGA & Insurance Approval

New UKLPG Register

Certificates have now been superseded by the UKLPG Vehicle Register, and are no longer valid – the only way to ensure certified conversion is by reference to the UKLPG Vehicle Register as above which includes vehicles for which LPGA LPG Conversion Certificates have been issued in the past.

Approved Autogas Installers will no longer be issuing LPG Conversion Certificates. Consumers will be given a Registration Receipt which the DVLA will accept as proof of conversion

The insurance industry is supporting this initiative and will verify the conversion through the UKLPG Register

If you have an LPGA Conversion Certificate - get on the Register...
Every effort has been made to record existing certified installations from current approved installers on the Register but any consumer in possession of a authentic LPGA LPG Conversion Certificate for which the vehicle is not on the Register can send the original by post (recorded delivery) to UKLPG (address below) to obtain free registration

Changing your number plate? - no problem
If your vehicle was placed on the Register after June 2010 and was issued with a "Registration Receipt" just send by post a copy of your V5C showing the new number and VIN/chassis number together with details of the registration number currently on the UKLPG Vehicle Register to obtain a free update to the Register.

If your vehicle was converted before this date and you have a copy of the LPGA LPG Conversion Certificate then send the original certificate by recorded delivery post  together with a copy of the new V5C confirming the chassis number and new registration number to UKLPG to obtain a free update of your vehicle on the UKLPG Vehicle Register.

Post (including recorded delivery) should be addressed to:
PO Box 2.2 Christchurch Business Centre, Grange Road, Christchurch, Dorset BH23 4JD .

Old Style LPG Certificates

Each vehicle when installed with a LPG conversion will be issued with a LPG certificate; these certificates are only allowed to be issued by UKLPG members’.

Some non UKLPG installers will tell you that they are registered for insurance purposes and try to pass this off with a letter for the insurance company, this is not true.

Please see the example below on what your certificate should look like.

Safety Report

For customers who have lost their certificate or purchased a vehicle without one, a Safety Report can be carried out, this is a five page report that replaces the original certificate or can certify a conversion done by a non UKLPG member providing it has been installed in accordance to the COP11 rules.

This report is also accepted by insurance companies and the DVLA.

Please see below an example of this report.

On Site Refuelling

We have an LPG tank on site that is price fixed on the 1st of each month dependant on the previous month’s oil price, at present this tank is owned by the LPG supplying company but we are now looking to install our own tank in the near future to offer a much more competitive retail price of the fuel.
