F1 Automotive has recently changed its name to CRD Performance Ltd, the new company name lends itself more appropriately to our ever developing diesel side of the business.

We were fortunate to secure the name CRD which stands for Common Rail Diesel as we continue to work with Diesel LPG, Diesel Performance, the 3D Re-map Box and DPF faults.

We continue to specialise in Petrol LPG conversions, servicing, fault repairs and all the other services we offer on our website in our state of the art workshop.

We are still trading as F1 Automotive but over a period of time as our customers become used to our new name this will be slowly phased out.

Lands End to John ‘O’Groats  9th September 2010

F1 Automotive is entering vehicles into the Autogas Challenge on the September 9th 2010, 22 assorted vehicles all running on LPG / Autogas, will be setting off from Lands End in Cornwall to John ‘O’ Grouts Scotland. The challenge is to drive economically, so that the percentage difference between petrol and LPG is as small as possible. OEM’s, Main dealers, autogas converters, and the general public can all compete to win this national award.

We will assemble in Exeter at Gas Power UK Ltd and then head down to Penzance and a hotel for the first night away.  The following morning we will head to lands end fill up with LPG and we anticipate being set off by a green minded MP. We will then continue to Gloucester where we will again fill up with LPG.

We will then arrive at F1 Automotive late afternoon on Friday the 10th to fuel up; the LPG has been donated 50 /50 by F1 Automotive and Cheshire Autogas and then a hotel for the second night away. That night a coach will be on hand to transport all 44 drivers to a curry house.

The following morning, heading to Edinburgh for the next fill up and then on to John ‘o’ Grouts for the last autogas fill. After a media opportunity, we will be heading back to Inverness to the hotel for the last night away, and the presentation. That night a coach will be on hand to transport all 44 drivers to a restaurant. The following morning we will disband and each team of drivers / car will find their own way home.

After the trip is completed the findings are supplied, i.e. which vehicle did what MPG / CO2 and what that would mean for the average motorist who is looking at alternative fuels, how easy was it to find, what is the national average price for LPG.

One of the vehicles F1 Automotive is entering is our development Transit Van that will be doing this trip on LPG Diesel enrichment. A Toyota Prius will also be completing this challenge as a Tri fuel vehicle. The novelty will be a Tut Tut (if it will make it).

The entrance fee is set at £250.00 this covers accommodation, breakfast, and coaches to the evening events. Any profit we make will be donated to HELP THE HERO’S

At every filling up point the press will be taking photographs and filming,

This will be a national public interest story showing the environmental potential of Autogas. The challenge will highlight how little the emissions are and how inexpensive it is to drive on autogas. The autogas industries will be show casing the latest developments within the autogas arena, namely Diesel enrichment, tri fueled vehicles, etc and in some cases the developers will be there for you to ask questions as well as the drivers.

This is not a race it’s a driving challenge to get the best MPG out of a vehicle on Petrol and LPG.

 HGV Rolling Road

Early in January 2010 Hybrid Combustion purchased a HGV Rolling Road to enable us to do our own mapping on the diesel blend LPG system for commercial vehicles which we are developing for them, they have supplied this superb purpose piece of equipment to F1 Automotive.

A big hole is now required to set it in the floor of our additional building at

Unit 2 Burnden Industrial Estate.

The Hiab lifting the rolling road off the wagon, a scary moment as it passes over the roof of a neighbouring building.

Castors were purchased and special plates manufactured to assist in its moving.

We once again give special thanks to Danny Jemmett of Perfect Solutions Limited for collection and delivery of the rolling road and the loan of his staff to assist in the unloading.

Testing the rolling road using the F150 to make sure everything is in working order.

The previous owner of this rolling road used it floor mounted but we are going to set it into the ground to maintain our extra floor space.
