Diagnostic Equipment
Please see below a brief list of some of our equipment
ASNU
ASNU is a Testing & Servicing programme where the injectors Fuel Distribution, Fuel Droplet Formation, Fuel Atomization and Fuel Delivery, are all visually and physically checked and tested as a starting point, rather than a last resort. The injectors are then ultrasonically cleaned and the rubber sealing rings, plastic protection caps and filter baskets are replaced, before re-testing, ensuring all the injectors are performing as a matched, balanced set.

Hana Tec Leak Detector
This piece of kit is essential for finding air leaks, especially inlet manifolds, smoke is pumped in under pressure and makes it quite obvious if it is leaking or where the leak maybe.

Rolling Road
Our Sun Ram XII is used for diagnostics, it allows us to run vehicles over the speed limit and hold a high speed while tests can be preformed under the bonnet and to check horse power against what should be standard.

Borescope
Digital borescopes are used to see inside the engine and inspect the combustion chamber and piston for damage or any blind corners that the eye cannot see.

Wide Band lambda Sensor
This gives us a live reading that shows us the true air fuel ratio of an engine, used on the roiling road or out on the road, we can check to see if the engine is being fuelled at its optimum. Most vehicle lambda sensors are not as accurate as this, most only being able to see if a mixture is lean (under 14.7:1) or rich (over 14.7) but to no degree by how much.

SUN 4-Gas Analyser
This takes samples from the exhaust and gives us the % content of Oxygen (O2), Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and a Parts Per Million measurement of Hydrocarbons (HC), the machine also calculates a Lambda value, using our experience and knowledge we can draw conclusions on how the engine is running by analysing these readings.

Bosch PMS100
Is a hand-held portable dual input oscilloscope, this tool is required when the signal is not a stable voltage, the tool graphs the voltage or current flow against time, the signals can be digital on off switched square waves , or analogue sine waves.

The Fueler
This tool has been inhouse developed, it has been designed so that once attached to a vehicle it can intercept the fuel control signal, then reproduce the signal with the ability to alter the signal manually to add more or remove fuel. With the ability to reference the the vehicles lambda sensor, cut the signals to 1 injector at a time, and self generate a varying switch signal, we can quickly diagnoses faults on vehicles that would take time and money to do without it.

OTC Sensor Simulator
Is used when a sensor is suspected faulty we can us this to generate varying amounts of resistance, voltage or digital uniformed square wave frequencies to act as the sensor and monitoring any change in how the engine is running.

SnapOn Booster Pack
With Vehicles using can-bus systems and advanced electronics using mains powered chargers run a high risk of damaging circuits and electronic control units, our packs are like a portable battery that hold a steady voltage, so there is no risk to jump starting vehicles.

Air Conditioning Refrigerant
With this tool we can extract and replace the R134a refrigerant and place the system under vacuum to remove any water, before putting new oil in the system and the correct weight of gas.

Tiled Floor
We have recently laid a new workshop floor with cream ceramic tiles, this means any signs of dust or dirt is spotted and cleaned immediately, it brightens up the building and leaves no dark corners for things to hide. This gives us a clinic type workshop and customer confidence that we do look after their cars with the greatest of respect.

Wing Protection
Every vehicle that comes into the workshop has its wings covered with a protective paper from a wall mounted dispenser, this stops scratches and marks being left in the paint work, we favour this method over using re-usable magnetic covers because the magnets can attract metal swarf.

Air conditioned workshop
We have great pride in ourselves and offer a high level of quality in our workmanship, this in turn means looking after the F1 employees which is why we went to the expense of installing air conditioning into the workshop, happy staff continue to do their best work.

Heated workshop
Happy warm staff continue to achieve high levels of quality in their work, so we have installed a timed heating system to make the workshop nice and cosy an hour before they begin their days work, quality of work is essential to us.

Code Readers
Often thought of as the “Plug it in to tell you what's wrong with it” tool, if this was the case we would not need any other equipment, these tools only indicate where a problem maybe and rely on the vehicle's engine management system detecting a fault. The other side of the code reader is the ability to show exactly what the ECU is reading, to get inside the “Brain” of the vehicle and looking at the values that represent anything from the ambient air pressure to the temperature of the water inside of the engine can be valuable for a quick diagnosis. The tools we use are:-
Texa Axone 3
One Most up-to-date for car,'s and even covers commercials and bikes, it has a huge capacity with can-bus enabled systems.
Launch X431 Bluetooth
An Amazing coverage of Japanese and Korean vehicles, with an inbuilt printer.

V-Tech Multiscan
Very quick, wide range of coverage, most used friendly tool.
